Shopping for Kids Clothes

>> Tuesday, October 11, 2011

This past week, we've had an awesome Indian summer.  However, it's supposed to get chilly again by the end of the week and that means - my kids need more clothes.  They always need more clothes (little buggers won't stop growing).

My two youngest (ages 6 and 10) are pretty easy to shop for kids clothes.  In fact, most of the time I just buy their clothes and give them to them and they love them.  They trust me to pick out their clothes (for awhile yet anyway).  Little kids clothes, like these pants from Ellos, are so sweet!

My 12 year old son requires stylish jeans, of course, like these Ellos jeans paired with an Ellos Checked Shirt (he loves checked shirts).  He has the longer, stylish hair (that I always see his female classmates playing with) and the same girlfriend for a year - - he's got to have it going on with the clothes too!

My teenage daughter is into boots this year (she takes after her mom because boots are MY thing).  She loves boots - high boots, ankle boots, heeled boots, flat boots.  Yes, she has all of the above too.  In fact, I have bought her more boots than I've bought for myself (good thing I can squeeze my half size bigger feet into her boots, ha ha).  I am thinking my teenager would love a pair of these boots from Ellos. They'd look great with her jeans, which she needs more of (plus, they match my winter coat too and then mom would be stylin' along with her kids).

So, it is off for some shopping for kids clothes before the extreme cold hits.  It's pretty outside now with the moderate temperatures and the leaves turning colors.  Beautiful!  However, it is only a matter of (very short) time before the kids will need cooler weather kids clothes - lots of pants and long-sleeved tops - and the warm weather clothes will get put away.  Ellos has some great choices in kids clothes!

Weight Loss & Turning 40 Soon!

I turn 40 on Sunday.  I've been on a weight loss mission to reach my goal weight by 40 years old.  This morning I woke up bloated and stuffy (sneezing, coughing too) - - yeah, like that is going to help when I get on the scale!  Let's bloat up with water on my final week of weight loss.  My husband wants me to stop losing weight.  I am right in the middle of the "normal" for BMI so I'm not technically overweight anymore, however, I still have a few places that could stand to lose a few more pounds.  He says I am fine the way I am and I should just enjoy eating (yeah, coming from my skinny hubby - - easy for him to say).

Yesterday while pulling stuff out of my trunk, a truck drove by and whistled at me.  Maybe I don't have to lose anymore weight?  I don't know.  I look at myself and see all the places that need it.  A good friend of mine says I don't need to lose anymore and have curves in all the right places.  Am I looking at myself differently than how people see me?  I wish I knew.

Shopping for Skinny Clothes Soon! Hitting the Women's Clothing Lines

>> Saturday, January 15, 2011

I have lost a total of 22.7 pounds so far and have 15.3 pounds left to lose.  I am thrilled with the weight loss so far but impatient to lose more.  I want new clothes!  I was looking at the collection of womens clothes from Very and look forward to the day when I can put on a pair of skinny jeans in a smaller size like these Miss Sixty Shock Skinny Jeans that stretch with two different leg lengths (I have long legs so that is important):

Pretty sexy, eh?  I am staring down the road at 40 years old in nine months.  I sure wish I'd been able to lose all this weight five years ago but hey, better now than never.

I like the distressed look in jeans too.  Very sells Bench Yorke skinny jeans with just the right amount of distressed to be stylish but not overdone.  Here they are:

When I was pregnant, I disliked the maternity clothes.  They didn't make anything pretty or form fitting.  I felt like I was wearing tents and unattractive jeans.  Check out these maternity skinny jeans found at www.Very.co.uk:

Now these maternity jeans are more like it!  Much more stylish than what was available when I was pregnant.

Now what would great jeans be without equally great shoes?  I love boots.  I wish I could wear them year-round!  I also love a great pair of high heeled sandals that resemble boots.  I found some pretty hot ones at Very like these Love Label Heidi peep toe shoe boots:

I know my husband wouldn't mind me shopping if this is what I bought!  He loves my high heels and is always trying to pick them out for me when we're out shopping.  His eyes would pop out of his head if I went out wearing these Love Label Otto Suede Over the Knee Boots:

Pretty sassy, aren't they?  I love them!  I am pretty positive I have to have them.  The heel height is about three inches while the boots themselves are about 23 inches in a great chocolate color to go with a great skirt I have to show off my legs that are coming back to shapely instead of...large.

Now that I've done so much shopping for great women's clothing, it's time to turn my attention to Very's offering for bedroom linens.  I think it's time to turn our boring bedroom into a romantic sanctuary away from kids and dogs!
